About

Hello! My name is Gill and I’m a professional French – English translator and Translation Project Manager.

I work freelance, from my home in the UK. I’m a native British English speaker, and from a very young age I’ve been interested in languages and culture.

After leaving school, I studied French with proficiency in Spanish at the University of Exeter. During my academic year abroad, I lived and worked in Paris at the head office of France Télécom-Orange, in the Corporate Social Responsibility department. After graduating from Exeter, I went on to get an MA in Translation from the University of Bristol – a course that I did online and distance learning whilst working in retail. After graduating, I got a job in a translation agency, as a project manager, where I worked for over 8 years.

In my spare time I like to spend time with my family and friends, do some form of exercise, skateboard, listen to music, cook, and read. My hair colour changes often, and the one thing on my bucket list is to see whales in the wild. One thing I know I do well is translation – whether by translating documents myself, or sourcing and project managing teams of excellent linguists.
